Prepare yourself – the title of the “Sharknado” sequel may blow your mind even more than the plot of the first movie.
“Sharknado 2: The Second One” has been chosen from more than 5,000 Twitter submissions for the sequel to the Ian Ziering/Tara Reid TV movie, Syfy announced on Thursday.
“Since Twitter played such a huge role in the success of the original movie, we wanted to use that platform to ask our fans to name ‘Sharknado 2,’” Thomas Vitale, Executive Vice President, Programming and Original Movies at Syfy, said in a statement. “This response is another reminder of how Sharknado has become a pop culture phenomenon.
“We want to thank all our viewers for their wonderful contributions to keeping up the shark-mentum,” the statement continued.
“Sharknado 2: The Second One” is slated to arrive in July 2014 and will be set in New York City.
