‘Star Wars: Episode VII’: Who Is Daisy Ridley?

The “Star Wars: Episode VII” cast was finally revealed on Tuesday and the actress who appears to have won the galactic casting lottery is newcomer Daisy Ridley.

While most of the cast are far from superstar status (aside from the returning franchise stars), Daisy stands out as the greenest of all.

AccessHollywood.com runs down what is known about the British actress:

She’s New To Acting: Daisy’s credits are limited with her acting career (according to IMDB) starting in 2013. She has appeared in a slew of British TV shows, with “Mr. Selfridge” (Jeremy Piven’s period series on ITV) being the most well-known.

Han & Leia’s Daughter?: Even Daisy’s age is not listed, with her agency profile stating that she can play from 16 to 20. Given her approximate age, her position at the script reading (seated between Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher) and her hair color… is she playing the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia?

Jedi Talents?: Do her real world skills (listed on her agency profile) – cycling, ice skating, Pilates, pool, rollerblading, running, tennis and being a dubbed as a “high skilled” swimmer – mean she’ll be wielding a lightsaber? With her role in the “Star Wars” universe still being kept under wraps, we don’t know if she’ll be hunting Sith, piloting the Millennium Falcon, or killing “Rebel scum” – but hopefully not being forced to dance for a Hutt on a sand barge.

Cue The Mos Eisley Cantina Band!: In addition to being a skilled athlete, Daisy is no stranger to the arts with numerous types of singing, dancing and violin playing in her bag of (maybe) Jedi tricks!

More is sure to be revealed about the actress (who is probably feeling luckier than a womp rat that Luke missed with his T-16) in the coming months before “Star Wars: Episode VII” blasts into theaters on December 18, 2015.
