The whole country has been swept up by Olympic fever!
President Obama, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber were among the many celebrities who Tweeted congratulations to the nation’s Olympic athletes over their recent London wins.
“Congrats to Michael Phelps for breaking the all-time Olympic medal record,” the Commander in Chief Tweeted early Wednesday morning. “You’ve made your country proud. –bo”
The grateful swimmer thanked the President, Tweeting, “Thank you Mr. President!! It’s an honor representing the #USA !! The best country in the world!!”
Also receiving praise from the stars were the women of Team USA’s gymnastics.
“CONGRATS to @McKaylaMaroney @jordynmarie2013 @kyla_ross96 @Aly_Raisman @gabrielledoug on your GOLD MEDAL,” The Biebs Tweeted on Wednesday, along with the hashtag “#BeliebersWinGOLD.”
The girls also received a shout out from Oprah Winfrey, who Tweeted, “WOW ! what a moment. The Fab Five!!!!! #TeamUSA Gymnastics,” while Lady Gaga wrote, “Woohoo! Gold for the ladies! just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? There’s no ‘I’ in team.”
