Taylor Kitsch Talks Battleship Bromance With Peter Berg & Possible Fifty Shades Of Grey Role

Taylor Kitsch first bonded with director/producer Peter Berg when the pair collaborated on “Friday Night Lights,” and the duo has maintained a working relationship and strong friendship ever since their days of shooting on the picturesque plains of Texas.

The 31-year-old hunk currently stars in Peter’s latest action hit, “Battleship,” and Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush caught up with Taylor at the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Thursday to get the dirt on his “bromance” with Peter.

“What was the moment– was it instant or was it a bromance that sort of simmered? Because [Peter] said, ‘Taylor Kitsch is an unreal mix of great acting talent and outrageous good looks,’” Billy told Taylor of the director’s praise.

“Wow — I think I gave him that note, to be honest. Those are my notes,” Taylor told Billy with a laugh. “I mean, we clicked pretty quick. We’re very much on the same page for the most part on everything. There’s a lot of trust there, man. I think that’s everything in a friendship and especially on set.”

And Taylor’s work with Peter has only just begun – the two are already back in the trenches working on a new action drama, “Lone Survivor,” set to be released in 2013.

“We can’t wait to get after it again in ‘Lone Survivor,’ which is a completely different tone [than ‘Battleship’],” Taylor said. “We’re going to knock it out.”

The Canadian-born heartthrob will also be seen on the big screen in Oliver Stone’s “Savages” – set to hit theaters in July — and is in talks to star in a “Little House on the Prairie” reboot.

With his rugged good looks and star on the rise, Billy suggested Taylor throw his hat in the ring for the role of E L James’ mysterious dominant Christian Grey.

“I’m telling you, ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey,’ brother. I think you should do it,” Billy told Taylor.

“I haven’t read it, but Brooks was reading it,” he said, referencing his “Battleship” beauty Brooklyn Decker. “It’s almost daily that people are asking me [about the book]. I haven’t read it yet.”

“Just start saying, ‘I’m doing it,” Billy joked.

“No kidding!” Taylor replied.

“Battleship,” which also stars Liam Neeson and Rihanna, explodes into theaters on May 18.
