Taylor Swift: ‘I’m Better Single’

Taylor Swift’s love life – both actual and rumored – has been making headlines ever since her 2008 split with Joe Jonas. Many gossip Web sites and blogs have linked her to “Twilight’s” Taylor Lautner – but the country cutie says she’s single and better because of it.

Fresh off her MTV VMA win heard around the world and right in the midst of her “Fearless” tour, the 19-year-old appeared on Wednesday’s “Oprah Winfrey Show,” where she set the record straight on her love life.

“Do you have a crush on anyone now?” asked 11-year-old Jordan, who was on assignment from Oprah to interview the country singer.

“As far as like, do I have a guy in my life right now? No,” Taylor said. “I think that as far as having a boyfriend, I’ve never wanted to be in a relationship that I wasn’t completely 100 percent in… I’d rather be single than be with someone I kind of like, rather than really like.”

Later in the show, Taylor appeared with Oprah and continued to reveal more details on her love life and approach to dating.

“I think that for me, I’ve never been a boyfriend girl where I’ve always got a boyfriend,” Taylor explained to the talk show queen, adding that she believes her life is better if she’s flying solo. “As far as relationships, that’s me making an exception. Like if I’m in a relationship, that’s an exception. Because I’m better single I think.”

Despite her penchant for the single life – and insanely busy schedule touring and recording – the young star said she would make room in her life for a special someone.

“I feel like if I were to meet the right person I would make time for it,” she told Oprah.

And the 19-year-old also revealed that she finally has a place of her own in case she does meet the right guy.

“I bought a condo and I’m really excited, because all my friends moved out and went to college,” she said. “So, I’m moving out of mom and dad’s house.”
