Taylor Swift: ‘Love Is A Complete Mystery’

Love (and the loss of it) have been a goldmine for Taylor Swift, but the 22-year-old singer says understanding it still eludes her.

“I know general things about love,” Taylor told Rolling Stone. “How to treat people well, what you deserve and when to walk away. Other than that, love is a complete mystery — and that’s why I like to write about it.”

The singer, whose latest hit single – “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” – looks back on a split with an unnamed man, explained that putting her love life into her music is not easy.

“I went through a few roller coasters,” she told the mag. “Trying to chronicle each step of the way was challenging, because you go to some really dark places with the lyrics. Then in the next track, you’re talking about how amazing it is to meet somebody new.”

With a new album, “Red,” dropping on October 22, Taylor said she’s itching to begin her tour.

“I really want to go out on the road in the spring,” she said. “After I write a song, I always end up laying awake at night thinking, ‘What are the lighting cues going to be on this? How big is the pit going to be?’ I have been thinking of some big moments that are going to happen.”

The singer, who has recently been linked to Conor Kennedy, was also asked by RS about reports that she bought a house near the famed family’s compound in Hyannis Port, Mass.

“That would be so amazing,” she said of buying real estate in the area.
