‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ Split Into Two Movies

Summit Entertainment is giving “Twilight” fans a double dose of “Breaking Dawn.”

The company behind the beloved vampire franchise announced that the fourth installment in the series will be released as two separate movies with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011.

Academy Award winner Bill Condon will direct both films with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

The screenplay – based on Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” series – is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey and Karen Rosenfelt.

“Breaking Dawn” will start production in fall 2010.

The third movie in the franchise, “Eclipse,” hits theaters on June 30, 2010.
