‘The Voice’: Christina Aguilera In, Gwen Stefani Out For Season 8

After a two-season hiatus, Christina Aguilera is coming back to “The Voice.”

Christina will be joined in the big red coaches’ chairs by Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams, NBC announced on Tuesday.

“OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Say HELLO to your Season 8 coaches! @adamlevine @Pharrell @xtina @blakeshelton #TheVoice,” the official Twitter account for “The Voice” posted on Tuesday morning.

An original member of the star-studded coaching panel, Christina stepped away from the show during Season 4, Season 6 and Season 7, being replaced by Shakira and Gwen Stefani, respectively.

“We are excited to welcome Christina back to her red chair and can’t wait to see how she mixes things up among Adam, Blake and Pharrell, in what will be an incredibly competitive competition,” Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. “These four talented artists are at the top of their game as musicians and as coaches. The mentoring is sure to be intense and the stakes will be high.”

When contacted by Access Hollywood on Tuesday, a spokesperson for NBC said there had not been any discussions yet with Gwen about returning for future seasons down the line.
