Tyra Banks Talks ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Firings: The ‘Show Needs A New Boost’

Tyra Banks is speaking out about the recent “America’s Next Top Model” shakeup that saw three of the show’s longtime personalities – Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and J. Alexander – axed.

“We reached a point, where were feel the show needs a new boost,” Tyra told Access Hollywood at the 2012 Matrix Awards in New York City.

“It’s very difficult because I love my guys, they’re my guys,” she continued. “They’ve been there since the beginning of the show.”

Despite the trio’s exit from “ANTM,” Tyra said she could be working with them in the future.

“My partner Ken Mok and I have projects we’re developing, and we’re a family, it doesn’t end,” she added.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Tyra addressed the situation last week on her Facebook account.

“To my Nigel Barker, Miss J, and Mr Jay: Thank you for all of our years together on America’s Next Top Model! Working with you is always an absolute pleasure. Excited for what the future holds for us. XOXO, TyTy,” she wrote at the time.
