UPDATED SUNDAY: Marie Osmond’s Son Commits Suicide

Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son, Michael Blosil, committed suicide Friday night. The LAPD confirmed to Access Hollywood that a body fitting the description of her son was indeed was indeed pronounced dead.

However, Access spoke with the LA County Coroner’s Office, which confirmed that Michael Brian Blosil, 18, is deceased. His body is currently being held at the Coroner’s Office, and the death is still under investigation.

TMZ reported that the death occurred when Michael jumped from his downtown LA apartment building.

The site later reported on Sunday that Michael left a suicide note for female friend and texted her about its presence shortly before 9 PM on Friday night. The note reportedly discussed things that he would be doing for the last time, although it reportedly did not mention suicide.

Marie’s rep issued the following statement to Access Hollywood: “My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

In November 2007, Access Hollywood reported that Michael had entered rehab, dealing with depression.

“My son Michael is an amazing young man,” Marie said, in a statement through her rep, at the time. “(He has) shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother, I couldn’t be more proud of him. The press and public have always been kind and gracious in the past and I know they will continue to respect our privacy during this time.”

Access has confirmed that Marie and brother Donny’s Las Vegas show tonight has been cancelled.
