Usher’s Wife In ‘Stable Condition’ Following Surgery & Medically Induced Coma

Usher’s wife, Tameka Raymond, is in stable condition after a surgery in South America, a rep for the R&B star confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“Tameka Raymond is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil,” Usher’s rep said in a statement to Access Hollywood Monday morning. “Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital. No further details will be released, and the family requests privacy at this difficult time.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Tameka experienced complications from plastic surgery in Brazil over the weekend.

On Monday, a source told Access Hollywood that Tameka was put in a medically induced coma following the surgical incident over the weekend, but she is now stable and out of the coma.

A neurosurgeon, Dr. Gabriel Hunt of LA’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, arrived in Brazil yesterday regarding the situation.

Usher was forced to pull out of a scheduled performance at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party over the incident.

Josh Groban filled in for the R&B star at Clive’s annual event.

Tameka, a 37-year-old stylist, recently gave birth to the couple’s second child, Naviyd Ely Raymond. The couple’s first child, Usher Raymond V, was born in November 2007.

The couple announced their engagement in February 2007, marrying on August 3 of that year.
