Whitney Houston’s Mother, Cissy Houston, Addresses Daughter’s Death In New Interview

Cissy Houston has spoken out for the first time about the death of her daughter, Whitney Houston.

“Nothin’ I can do about it,” the grieving mom told Brenda Blackmon of My9TV in New Jersey, in a new interview, about the loss of her daughter.

“Nothin’ nobody else can do about it,” she continued in the brief excerpt My9TV made available online on Friday, promoting their interview, set to air over the weekend. “If I thought I could do something to bring her back that’s exactly what I’d do about it… but I know that’s impossible.”

The news journalist caught up with the legendary gospel singer ahead of Gospelfest, at the New Hope Baptist Church, the same locale where Whitney’s memorial was held late last month.

Whitney died on February 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

In related Houston family news, according to the Los Angeles Times, Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, has been cast in “For Better or Worse,” a sitcom from Tyler Perry, which airs on TBS.

She will appear in a recurring role.
