Who Will Replace Rosie On ‘The View’?

Out with the Rosie? in with the Roseanne?

According to a report in the New York Post, Roseanne Barr has been tapped as the first choice to replace the departing Rosie O’Donnell next season on “The View.”

“They’re missing strong personalities on that show, and that’s what they’re going to need if they want to keep it going,” an ABC source reportedly told the Post.

However, a spokesperson for “The View” told Access Hollywood the report was “absolutely false.”

Additionally, a rep for Roseanne told Access the comedienne, who is busy doing a gig in Las Vegas through mid-June, hasn’t been approached about taking over for Rosie.

Other names reportedly being talked about to replace Rosie include Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford, Ricki Lake, Connie Chung, Bette Midler, Kathy Griffin, Mo’Nique, Wanda Sykes, Soledad O’Brien, Sherri Shepherd, and Carrie Ann Inaba.

In a poll conducted last week on AccessHollywood.com, viewers tabbed Griffin and Monique (31 percent each) as their favorites to replace Rosie. Kathie Lee earned 25 percent of the vote while Mario Cantone finished fourth with 14 percent of the vote.

During an appearance last week on “Larry King Live,” the always outspoken Roseanne remained mum on the question of joining the “The View.”

“I’m not looking for the job,” she said.

“Well, I want $10 million, like Rosie,” she added later.

Rosie revealed last week she would be leaving her seat on the popular morning talker after one season because she and ABC could not come to terms on a new deal.
