Will Ferrell On Eva Mendes: ‘She’s Just Kind Of Average’

While Will Ferrell was filming his new comedy “The Other Guys,” the actor decided to play it cool when he first met the woman who would play his on-screen wife, Eva Mendes.

“When you see [Eva] in person, she’s not that beautiful really… she’s just kind of average,” the comedian joked to Parade Magazine. “If you were sitting next to her on the bus, you probably wouldn’t notice her.”

However, at the NYC premiere of “The Other Guys” on Monday night, Eva took a chance to get even with her co-star.

“Tell us one thing we don’t know about Will Ferrell,” Access Hollywood asked Eva.

“He’s not funny. He’s not funny. He is…. not funny. There you go,” she retorted!

In reality, Will explained that getting close to Eva was a dream of his.

“That was a childhood and an adult dream,” Will told Parade. “That was a lifetime dream. But she kept laughing at me a lot.”

As for Eva, working with Will was equally a strong career goal of hers.

“It was pretty great. He’s kind of like my dream co-star — not kind of like, he is,” Eva dished.

“‘Anchorman’ is my favorite movie of all time and Ron Burgundy is one of my favorite characters of all time. It’s my ‘Gone With the Wind.’ All I did was quote ‘Anchorman’ on a daily basis. So it was a dream come true in a sense.”

“The Other Guys,” starring Will Ferrell, Eva Mendes and Mark Wahlberg hits theaters August 6.
