Zoe Kravitz’s ‘Divergent’ Beauty

GLAM SLAM

Zoe Kravitz was a breath of fresh air at the Los Angeles Premiere of “Divergent” (which made $56 million at the box office this weekend, btw).

Her white Balenciaga dress is spring personified and her makeup — fresh and modern.

Here’s how you can achieve the same beauty look:

WHO: Chanel Makeup Artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua (all products are CHANEL)

INSPIRATION: I was inspired by her ethereal off-white dress, so I created an edgier and ‘harder‟ eye look that contrasted with the softness of the lacey material of her dress.

HOW TO:
Eyes: To create some drama and accentuate Zoe’s beautiful almond eyes, I first mixed the lightest shade of the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Variation with rose water and using an angled fluffy brush, I painted a shimmery highlight sweeping the color across the upper lid and around the inner eye. I then used the charcoal shade in the Quad below the eyes, extending the color outward to meet the highlight. Finishing the eye look, I swept Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir on the top lash line.
Mascara: I curled her lashes and gave them just one coat of Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir.

Brows: I defined her brow with Sculpting Eye Brow Pencil in Noir Cendre to give a stronger, edgier frame.

Face: Using Perfection Lumiere Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 and Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15 in No. 50, I accentuated her cheekbones by contouring and highlighting. The trick is to use several shades to create dark and light and to do lots of blending, leaving the skin looking „free of makeup‟ and even. On Zoe, I kept her freckles showing as this keeps her face soft, tonal and natural. I used Powder Blush in Frivole, a satin-like peachy-pink tone, on the apples of the cheeks and above to create a glow to her face, bringing out her high cheekbones. And lastly, I set her face with Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Natural.

Lips: We used Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm to keep the lips tonal with the skin while also creating a soft and moisturized appearance.
