The Oscar winner recalled being up for Leonardo DiCaprio’s role in “Titanic,” telling The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast that he was “pretty confident” he’d nailed his audition with Kate Winslet. Although Leo ultimately won out, Matthew apparently left a lasting impression on the hit film’s leading lady.
