Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Talks Singing In ‘Moana’

Is there anything The Rock can’t do?!?

On Wednesday, Dwayne Johnson signed on to lend his singing voice to the lead male character in Disney’s “Moana,” and it was no April Fools’ joke!

“It’s time to sing. And Disney Classic, I was over there. It was a big deal. Like I signed the contract there at Disney, so it was pretty cool,” he told Access Hollywood‘s Stephanie Bauer at the Hollywood premiere of “Furious 7.” “You realize they’re the greatest storytellers in the world and I can’t wait for it to come out.”

He gave fans a bit of a preview of his vocal chops on the red carpet by singing a verse from Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” – which he’ll be performing on tonight’s “Lip Sync Battle” premiere when he dukes it out with Jimmy Fallon at 10/9c on Spike.

“Because you just want to ‘Shake it Off,'” he told Stephanie of his song selection, before breaking in to song, “My ex man brought his new girlfriend. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I just want to shake it.'”

Dwayne, who also recently hosted “Saturday Night Live” for a fourth time, said he really enjoys performing and “connecting with an audience.”

“Any time I get a chance to sing, dance, perform, act a fool, I’m in,” he said.
