Congrats to Halle Berry, who is the latest star to announce her pregnancy! Maternity Mania! There are so many pregnant stars these days, I feel like the bumps are going to bump into each other on the red carpet any moment.
Of course, much has also been made of what these stars are wearing:
Kate Middleton, by all accounts is looking as classy as ever.
Kim Kardashian… well, we’ve all seen the New York Post headline, “What The Frock?” Lots and lots and lots of chatter about what she’s been wearing and if it’s appropriate for someone who is pregnant.
Since I am expecting myself (due the same time as Kim and Kate, in fact) I am not about to rip a pregnant woman for her fashion choices- questionable or not!! Sure, I may not agree with all of Kim’s choices, but who am I to say what she should, or should not wear. If she feels happy wearing something then more power to her.
BUT…
Why not single out someone when they look awesome?
Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott nailed this bump-tacular look from A Pea in the Pod at Sunday’s ACM Awards.
The dark midnight blue is a gorgeous color that helps camouflage any problem areas; and jersey is a stretchy, forgiving fabric that’s perfect for growing bellies. The beaded, deep neckline draws the eye up and showcases her cleavage. The flowy style of the gown is super flattering and looks super comfy- a major plus for any mom-to-be.
Hillary looks appropriate, but still stylish and glam. Nothing matronly or muumuu-ish about this gown!
