Jessica Simpson To Fans: ‘Thank You For Your Support’

Jessica Simpson made her first appearance Thursday night since the Weight Gain Scandalette erupted on Sunday and the singer took the opportunity to thank her fans.

“Thank you for your support,” Jessica told the crowd in Charlottesville, Virginia following her set, People reported. “Stay positive, and pray out loud! I love you guys, good night.”

The singer did not specially mention her appearance at Sunday’s Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff where the singer sported high-waisted “mom-style” jeans, a leopard print double belt and a tight black tank top.

For Thursday’s opening performance for Rascal Flatts, Jessica wore skin-tight leather pants, a V-neck T-shirt and a hip-length black jacket, according to the mag.

“Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder,” she told the crowd. “So just appreciate.” Adding, “I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, some of Jessica’s fellow celebs – along with her own family – have leapt to her defense.

Wednesday night, at a Super Bowl party in Tampa, for example, Kim Kardashian told Access Hollywood, “It makes me think, what do they think about me? Because I’m bigger than Jessica in that picture. I think it was absolutely ridiculous. I think she looks amazing and I loved the outfit.”

And in New York, Donald Trump told Access “I think Jessica Simpson looks great. Don’t change Jessica. You look great!”

Jessica’s sister, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, also defended her big sis, writing on her blog, “I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight… All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.”
