Katy Perry To Perform With Dolly Parton At The Academy Of Country Music Awards

Katy Perry
is going country, and Dolly Parton is leading the way!

The superstars
will perform together at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 3, dick
clark productions and the ACM announced on Monday.

In addition,
Dolly will receive the Tex Ritter Award for her TV movie “Dolly Parton’s
Coat of Many Colors,” which aired on NBC in December 2015.

According to
an ACM press release, the Tex Ritter Award celebrates a movie “featuring
or utilizing country music” that was released and/or received “major
exposure” in the preceding calendar year.

“This is a great honor, to be able
to accept something that’s so personal to me like ‘The Coat of Many Colors,’ a
true story from my childhood,” Dolly said.

The 10-time
ACM winner added that Katy will “probably” present the honor as well
as join her on stage, and also shared the news on Twitter.

@ACMAwards!” Dolly wrote.

Katy and Dolly’s duet will mark the first time the two have joined musical forces. The California Gurl previously appeared on an episode of “CMT Crossroads” with country darling Kacey Musgraves in 2014. 

The 51st Academy of Country Music Awards will air on Sunday, April 3 at 8/7c on CBS.
