close-up.

On Monday, the music powerhouse
gave fans the first peek at her and Bradley Cooper shooting their upcoming
remake of “A Star is Born.” According to Gaga, she couldn’t be happier with how the project is
coming along.

“I am so
excited to star in my first movie alongside someone I’m so lucky to call my
friend. I always wanted to be an actress on the big screen,” she wrote on Instagram, captioning a photo of her and the Oscar nominee in
character together on stage.

“The story of ‘A Star is Born’ is so special and I’m so grateful to Bradley for making my dream come true,” she continued.

The film also marks a career milestone for the “American Sniper” star, who’s making his directorial debut in addition to co-producing and co-writing. This will be the third reimagining of the 1937 original, more than 40 years after the latest version, starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, hit theaters.

According to a press release, Gaga is set to portray aspiring singer Ally, who shoots to fame under the guidance of Bradley’s troubled country music star Jackson Maine. As the two become romantically involved, Jackson is forced to come to terms with his declining celebrity while watching Ally’s Hollywood spotlight grow only brighter.

Production is underway in Indio, Calif., this week, in between Gaga’s headlining sets at Coachella. Festivalgoers were given a heads up on the official Coachella app, and invited to join the set as extras with the purchase of a $10 ticket. All proceeds go to Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.

In her post, the 31-year-old also shared a teasing introduction to her new alter ego.

“Can’t wait for you to meet Ally. She has her first scene in 5…” she wrote.

“A Star is Born” is slated to premiere in September 2018.
