“Lost” Access: The Cast Spills Details To An “Access” Producer

Man, I’m a lucky guy. Sure, I have a great job here at Access Hollywood but with that job comes great assignments.

I had just returned from a lengthy trip back home to Arkansas when I got the call that I would be sent to Oahu’s North Shore for a “Lost” shoot. Last year I was deep in the jungles of the Turtle Bay resort covering their season one DVD release. This year I would reprise my role as enthusiastic producer and fan for the second season DVD kick off.

As the rain started to fall over the long line of press waiting anxiously for the cast arrivals, the lovable Jorge Garcia drove up. This guy is such a trooper. He didn’t miss a beat and could have cared less about the rain or the umbrella that was being held over him by some event publicist. He had just started shooting the first episode of the season, but as you can imagine, was tight lipped about what would happen other than Hurley would be informing the “Losties” back home about “the others” holding Doc Jack, Kate, and Sawyer captive.

Arriving behind him Yunjin Kim (I have to admit she’s my favorite. I did a shoot with her earlier in the year for TV Guide magazine –so we had already bonded.) Yoon looked great in a black dress she got while vacationing in Paris over her summer break and showing off her impressive fancy Christian Dior watch. She also showed me her hidden talent, which I can’t expose here. You’ll have to stay tuned to Access. Let’s just say it creeped me out!

Terry O’Quinn entered the press craziness with his wife and family. This guy is so cool — so suave — and so extremely hip. Daniel Dae Kim may well be one of the nicest people I’ve ever interviewed. Then it was time to bow to the great Michael Emerson. “Lost” fans know him as “Henry Gale.”After I gave him much-needed props he gave me some nuggets from the first episode premiering October 4th. We’ll meet brand new residents of the Island. (I’ll reveal more on the new cast soon). Michael urges fans not to expect the expected from his kooky gang of dirty faces and ragged clothes. Heck he even hinted that they may even wear shoes back at home! Hmmmm… They are apparently nothing what we think they are! Maybe their attire is like the beard Mr. Friendly wears. A costume!

When Evangeline Lilly enters the scene… people go nuts. The beautiful lady posed for picture after picture with fans that were shocked she was so humble. She had spent the day getting her car repaired, going to a doctor’s appointment and pampering herself. The pampering paid off. She was radiant. Wearing her R. Favela leopard print gown. She did her best to outshine her buddy Josh Holloway who could not have been more fun. I had thought he was from Arkansas too (I know I read that somewhere)… but nope –the boy hails from Georgia. Super nice and super approachable the hard Sawyer exterior disappears when the southern boy talks to the press. He’s finally getting a taste of the tabloids though. I told him he had officially arrived. He denied to me that he and Matthew Fox (who missed the party — he was stuck in production) are in a big feud behind the scenes. He said the tabloids had also reported he made fun of Cynthia Watros’ DUI arrest. Both stories… not true.

Inside the party I noticed something odd immediately. The cast was having a ball and they were actually there! Most of the time at Hollywood Events the stars do the red carpet line walk into the party and right back out the door. That wasn’t the case here. They ate, drank, and were very merry!

In fact Terry O’Quinn can cut a rug! But this night was basically the first time that many of them they had seen each other since leaving for their summer break. Over our appetizers Evangeline revealed to me that she had in fact met with “Superman Returns” director Brian Singer and the film’s producers regarding the role of Lois Lane (Man, I wish she had played that role.) But she found out quickly over their many dinners that it wouldn’t happen because of “Lost’s” intense schedule. She spent her summer not working but having some much needed “Evangeline time” — reading, writing, and relaxing. It was the first time she had gotten to do that since accepting the role of “Kate.”

Jorge expressed sadness over Cynthia Watros’ exit and Yunjin talked about the show’s surprising Emmy snub. But I found out she has a great episode coming up where her back-story reveals Sun was once a bad girl — Maybe her Emmy is just around the corner!
