Zac Efron’s Real Life High School Yearbook

It’s no secret Zac Efron has made himself the focus of many a young girl’s dream.

But the “High School Musical” star wasn’t always bestowed with those dreamy good looks he uses to win over Gabriella and “HSM” fans across the universe.

In fact, Zac was just an ordinary kid growing up, as Access Hollywood discovered when we stumbled upon his old yearbook photos from Arroyo Grande High School near San Luis Obispo, California.

From a spikey-haired, gap-toothed 14-year-old… to a shaggy-haired (albeit still gap-toothed) 16-year-old… and finally giving the world a glimpse of the guy candy he would soon become in his school photo at the age of 18, Zac showed off a bevy of looks as you can see in his high school yearbook photos.

But as Access Hollywood found out when we spoke with Zac, he was well aware of his social standing in high school.

“I was definitely not the coolest kid in school,” he revealed. “If you were there, you’d believe me. I was just a regular kid.”

And what about the gap in the center of his now million-dollar smile?

“Just before ‘High School Musical’ I got some braces. It was fixed in three weeks,” Zac said.

Nice to know even the good-looking go through their own awkward stage.

Oh how far you’ve come Zac!
