Awards season is kicking into high gear with the announcement of the 2020 Oscar Nominees. The adorably upbeat duo of comedian Issa Rae and actor John Cho read out the list of nominees live on Monday morning, and joked that they should be nominated for their announcing abilities.
This year’s 92nd annual Academy Awards will be held on Feb. 9 in Hollywood. And while Issa and John kicked off the season in style, the actual Oscars ceremony will go without an official host for the second year in a row.
“Joker” nabbed the most nominations, the film has been winning big at the Golden Globes and The Critics’ Choice Awards and the Academy Awards nominations were no different.
Some are surprised that Jennifer Lopez was shut out for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Hustlers” after getting a nom for the Golden Globes.
