Colin Farrell On Why He Loves Yoga

Colin Farrell’s toned and sexy beach body recently made headlines and the actor credits yoga for helping him continue to look so good.

“It’s fun. [I] do it every day, as much as I can,” Colin told Access Hollywood at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s 2013 Installation Luncheon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday.

Asked what it is about yoga that has captured the Irish hunk’s attention, Colin said he likes how the exercise ritual is all about the body.

“I love being in a class with students – 30 or 40 people all moving in unison,” he said. “It’s very easy to live where you remain in your head… and you’re concerned about various things and constantly contemplating and so on and so forth, so it takes you out of your head for a while and just puts you back into your body.”

Colin, who was on hand at the HFPA event to receive a check on behalf of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, has a new movie project on the way – “Saving Mr. Banks” – and he credits the star of the project, Tom Hanks, for getting him involved.

“That was Hanks pushing that rock uphill, but it was nice to be a part of ‘Saving Mr. Banks,’” he said about the film, where he plays Travers Robert Goff, the father of Mary Poppins author P.L. Travers. “[It had] a beautiful script, a really beautiful script. So much heart.

“Saving Mr. Banks,” about P.L. Travers and Walt Disney, opens in theaters on December 20, 2013.
