‘Daily Show’s’ Michael Che Joins ‘Saturday Night Live’, Replaces Cecily Strong On ‘Weekend Update’ 

“Saturday Night Live” has added a new cast member and shaken up the “Weekend Update” desk.

Comedian Michael Che, who has worked on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” will join Colin Jost on “Weekend Update,” a rep for “SNL” confirmed to Access Hollywood.

Cecily Strong, who was previously at the desk with Colin, will remain on the NBC series as a regular cast member.

Michael, who was a writer for “SNL” last season, formed a strong working relationship with Colin last year in the writer’s room.

“Saturday Night Live” Season 40, with host Chris Pratt and musical guest Ariana Grande, premieres on September 27.
