David Archuleta To Hit The Road On First Solo Tour

Calling all “Archie” Angels — the wait is over! “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta has announced his first solo tour, where he’ll be supported by Irish pop-rocker Lesley Roy.

The Utah native will be kicking off the tour in Virginia Beach, Virginia on February 24 and will wrap things up March 21 in Boise, Idaho, with 18 additional stops along the way. He’s touring in support of his self-titled debut album.

Archuleta’s first single, “Crush,” was released in August 2008 and hit the No. 2 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart in the same month. “Crush” has sold more than 166,000 downloads to date.

His latest, “A Little Too Not Over You” is currently at No. 52 on the Hot 100 list.

Roy will be joining Archuleta on tour to promote her debut album, “Unbeautiful,” which was released in September 2008 by Reunion/Jive Records.

But before he can hit the road, Archuleta will be making a guest appearance on Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” on February 7. In the episode, filmed last year, Archie will compete in the fictional “America Sings” TV contest and, with the help of Carly, bring home first place!
