Jodelle Ferland Talks Secret ‘Eclipse’ Character

“Eclipse” has a new vampire – but she has a secret.

Variety reported earlier this month that Jodelle Ferland would be the latest actress to join the cast of the third film in “The Twilight Saga,” but in an interview with E! Online’s Marc Malkin, the 14-year-old star wouldn’t reveal the character’s identity.

“I’m allowed to tell people I play a vampire who has just been turned,” she told the site. “In other words, I’m a newborn vampire. I’m not allowed to say the name of the character.”

One thing the young star, whose past credits include “Good Luck Chuck” and “Silent Hill,” doesn’t have to keep a secret is her excitement about joining the cast – and meeting a certain vampire.

”[I’m] really, really excited to meet Robert Pattinson,” she said, adding that her friends are, too. “Every single person I’ve told has asked me if they could come to the set.”

A number of fresh additions have joined the “Eclipse” cast in recent weeks, including Catalina Sandino Moreno as Maria, Jack Huston as Royce King II, and Bryce Dallas Howard, who’ll be taking over the role of Victoria from Rachelle Lefevre.
