Leonardo DiCaprio On The One Thing Fans Tell Him Most Often

Leonardo DiCaprio will probably never be the tallest member in a pick up game of basketball, but he excels on Hollywood’s vertical scales.

“I’m always shocked at how tall you are,” Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush pointed out to the statuesque Leonardo as the actor hit the premiere of “Revolutionary Road” in Los Angeles Monday evening.

“It’s weird. I do get that a lot,” Leonardo remarked. “I’m not extraordinarily tall, but people…”

“How tall are you?” Billy asked.

“That’s the number one thing people say to me constantly — ‘Wow! You’re a lot taller than I thought you’d be,’” Leonardo revealed. “They have a perception, I guess, that most actors are gnomes or something.”

For the record, Leonardo hangs in the air at about 6 feet tall, making him half a foot taller than his “Revolutionary Road” co-star, Kate Winslet.

The two reunited on the big screen for the first time since “Titanic,” for the 1950s-based drama, and it’s already been a big success ahead of its release, garnering both Leonardo and Kate Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor and Actress, respectively.

“I was on my way back from New York and I got a whole bunch of texts from a lot of different people and I said, ‘Alright, this is a good sign,’” Leonardo said of how he found out he’d been nominated. “[I] called everyone back and sure enough…”

Leonardo said what thrilled him most about the Golden Globe announcements was Kate’s nod.

“It was great news for me, but it was great that I got to receive it with Kate too because I wouldn’t feel right if she wasn’t alongside me at that ceremony, just representing the movie,” he said.
