Leonardo DiCaprio will probably never be the tallest member in a pick up game of basketball, but he excels on Hollywoodâs vertical scales.
âIâm always shocked at how tall you are,â Access Hollywoodâs Billy Bush pointed out to the statuesque Leonardo as the actor hit the premiere of âRevolutionary Roadâ in Los Angeles Monday evening.
âItâs weird. I do get that a lot,â Leonardo remarked. âIâm not extraordinarily tall, but peopleâŚâ
âHow tall are you?â Billy asked.
âThatâs the number one thing people say to me constantly â âWow! Youâre a lot taller than I thought youâd be,ââ Leonardo revealed. âThey have a perception, I guess, that most actors are gnomes or something.â
For the record, Leonardo hangs in the air at about 6 feet tall, making him half a foot taller than his âRevolutionary Roadâ co-star, Kate Winslet.
The two reunited on the big screen for the first time since âTitanic,â for the 1950s-based drama, and itâs already been a big success ahead of its release, garnering both Leonardo and Kate Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor and Actress, respectively.
âI was on my way back from New York and I got a whole bunch of texts from a lot of different people and I said, âAlright, this is a good sign,ââ Leonardo said of how he found out heâd been nominated. â[I] called everyone back and sure enoughâŚâ
Leonardo said what thrilled him most about the Golden Globe announcements was Kateâs nod.
âIt was great news for me, but it was great that I got to receive it with Kate too because I wouldnât feel right if she wasnât alongside me at that ceremony, just representing the movie,â he said.
