Mindy McCready On Kari Ann Peniche’s Claims: ‘I Did Not Want To Be Dragged Into All This’; Kari Ann Gives New Interview

Mindy McCready has defended herself to Access Hollywood after reports of her involvement in the leak of a racy home video that featured married couple Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart and model Kari Ann Peniche.

“I did not want to be dragged into all this,” the country singer told Access earlier this week. “I did not want to be a part of this.”

Further, Mindy denied leaking the tape, which surfaced online on Monday and featured the trio in the nude, with Kari Ann and Rebecca sharing a bathtub. According to several online reports, Mindy – Kari Ann’s co-star on the third season of “Celebrity Rehab” – stole Kari’s hard drive, which contained the footage.

However, Mindy claims it was Kari Ann who leaked the video.

“She is evil personified, she is evil in human form. She will hurt anyone she can to make money,” Mindy said.

For her part, in a new interview with E! News set to air Monday, Kari Ann denied leaking the footage and said it was “Grey’s Anatomy” star Eric who tipped her off to the leak.

“I got a call from Eric, obviously upset, asking me what – he said something about Mindy, and that’s when I was like, I should go home and check,” she said. “If I was going to leak it, I would have done that a long time ago.”

E! Online has reported that a DVD of the footage was delivered to the LAPD due to alleged possible illegal activity, but Kari said she’s “not worried about anything.”

“Nobody raided my house; I haven’t had any contact with LAPD,” she said.

And as for the actions in the video itself, Kari Ann said it was just “a lot of fun.”

“Rebecca and I hit it off, she’s really funny, she’s a really cool girl – I don’t know, we just had a lot of fun,” Kari Ann told E! News.
