Nancy O’Dell Hosts Miss Universe Pageant

LOS ANGELES (July 17, 2006) — Nancy O’Dell is back on the beauty queen beat.

Access Hollywood’s co-anchor will co-host Sunday’s Miss Universe pageant on NBC with actor-singer Carlos Ponce.

O’Dell served in the same role at last year’s Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants.

Carson Kressley of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and Miss USA 2004 Shandi Finnessey will provide roving commentary during the two-hour pageant.

Latin singer Chelo will be the musical guest. His English-Spanish single “Cha Cha” was featured during Mexican coverage of the recent World Cup soccer tournament. His debut album, “360 Degrees,” is due out July 25.

Reigning titleholder Natalie Glebova of Canada will crown her successor during the 55th annual pageant airing live from the Shrine Auditorium, the first time since 1998 that the United States will be the host country.
