Pamela Bach Reacts To David Hasselhoff Drunken Video Tape

There’s a natural reaction to laugh when you see the drunken David Hasselhoff video. But when you consider the depth of the disease and the fact his daughter was the one filming, it becomes sad.

Yesterday, his ex-wife Pamela Bach talked candidly about David’s alleged abuse and alcoholism and now, she reacts to the much talked about tape in a new interview with Access Hollywood.

“I know that there is a tape out there,” an emotional Pamela admitted. “If it’s anything of what I’m hearing it is, he is very sick and he does need help. I want my children away from that.”

On the tape, you can repeatedly hear the couple’s 16-year-old daughter Taylor Ann pleading with her dad to stop drinking.

“Promise that you’re not going to get alcohol,” she tells her father on the tape.

Although Pamela has not yet seen the tape, shot three months ago by their daughter, she is not surprised by its contents.

“He needs help,” Pamela insisted.

Bach’s attorney, Debra Opri, released the following statement to Access Hollywood late Friday afternoon:

“Although Mr. Hasselhoff has publicly admitted the truthfulness and authenticity of a video showing him severely intoxicated in the presence of his minor daughter while she was in his custody, his private conduct behind the scenes continues to be deplorable in that he refuses to accept responsibility for his actions by transferring blame to his ex-wife. This is the behavior of a man in denial who arrogantly spins his explanations to the media in an attempt to save face. The spinning is over. While his continuing abuse of alcohol violates court orders, more importantly it is harming their children’s lives in what has become an all out ‘hate fest’ by Mr. Hasselhoff against his ex-wife.”

Meanwhile, Hasselfhoff has seen the video and released this statement:

“I am a recovering alcoholic. … Unfortunately, one evening I did have a brief relapse, but part of recovery is relapse. Because of my honest and positive relationship with my daughters who were concerned for my well being there was a tape made that night to show me what I was like. I have seen the tape. I have learned from it. …The tape was never meant to become public, but got into the hands of individuals who are not worthy of mentioning, who maliciously released the tape for their own self purpose. I hope that someone else will learn from the tape, as I have.”

But is he really back on track?

Just last week, our Access cameras captured a seemingly off Hasselhoff doing press for the new season of “America’s Got Talent.”

During the interview, he appeared to have difficulties keeping focused while talking about transitioning from Las Vegas to Los Angeles amidst legal battles.

Today, Hasselhoff spoke to E! News’ Ryan Seacrest (who is a friend of David’s) and claimed his daughter did not intend for the tape to go public. Hasselhoff believes Pamela was the one who maliciously leaked it to the media – a claim which she denies.
