TLC ‘Cover Shot’ Host Richard Dean Dies

NEW YORK (January 4, 2007) — Richard Dean, world-renowned fashion photographer and co-host of TLC’s reality series “Cover Shot”, died on December 27, 2006 after a two-and-a-half month struggle with pancreatic cancer, Access Hollywood has learned.

A 15-year industry veteran, Dean was well-known for his energy and enthusiasm behind the camera lens. As a photographer, he worked for some of the world?s most prestigious brands including Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace, Yves St. Laurent, Reebok and Nike.

In August of 2006, Dean parlayed his talents as a photographer into a successful stint as co-host of the TLC makeover show “Cover Shot.” Dean and co-host Frederique Van der wal turned “supermoms” into “supermodels” with a fashion photo shoot and climactic billboard reveal in the middle of Times Square. Throughout the series, Richard?s keen eye, radiant smile and gentle demeanor helped countless women discover their inner and outer beauty. It was a role that he cherished deeply.

“Richard was an amazing television personality but more than that he was our close friend,” says Dave Noll, Executive Producer of “Cover Shot” and president of City Lights Television. “More than just about anyone I know, Richard seemed to embody the word ‘Life.’ I think back and can only see his enthusiasm, his energy and his excitement. Who else lived life as charged as Richard Dean? He was the essence of the phrase ‘Seize the Day.’”

In addition to ?Cover Shot,? Richard also appeared as a guest photographer on the series ?America?s Next Top Model,? starring Tyra Banks.
