James Van Der Beek Reacts To Concerns Over His Appearance In ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion Video

James Van Der Beek is shedding new light on how he is feeling emotionally amid his battle with colorectal cancer. During an interview with “TODAY” on Friday from his Texas ranch, the actor reacted to concerns over his appearance which arose after he was unable to attend a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion on Broadway in September due to a stomach virus. “I lost so much weight due to the stomach virus, it was not cancer related,” James explained. Adding, “As crushed as I was not being able to go to that ‘Dawson’s Creek’ reunion, my family got to go.” He got emotional as he reflected on the moment, “They got a standing ovation just for taking their seats, all that love would have otherwise been directed at me, was directed at my family.”
