Macaulay Culkin Has Heartfelt Reaction To Cheers At First Golden Globe Awards In 35 Years
Macaulay Culkin got a warm welcome at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards! The actor received cheers from the crowd upon taking the stage at the Jan. 11 show, where he was on hand to present Best Screenplay honors. Mac seemed sincerely surprised and moved by how happy the audience was to see him, and he noted that he hadn’t appeared at the ceremony since childhood. “Wow, thanks guys,” he began. “It’s been 35 years since I’ve been to the Globes. Thanks for welcoming me back, that’s really nice of you guys.” Though Macaulay took some time away from Hollywood in the decades since his breakout role in the 1990 classic “Home Alone,” he proved his comedic timing never went anywhere. “I know it’s weird seeing me outside the holiday season,” the now-45-year-old joked, “but shockingly I do exist all year round, I promise you.” He went on to note that the category was a fitting one for him, considering he’s had literally lifelong experience reading scripts – and he’s still going! Despite having said he considers himself currently retired, Macaulay got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023 and most recently appeared in the second season of “Fallout.” The icon is crushing it in his personal life, too! He and longtime partner Brenda Song are proud parents to two boys and made the Globes a date night, hitting the red carpet looking as smitten as ever.
