Oprah Cries As Best Friend Gayle King Launches into Space With Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez & More

Oprah had an emotional reaction watching best friend Gayle King launch into space aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket and capsule. The “CBS Mornings” anchor joined an all-female crew on the April 14 journey which included former journalist and fiancée of Jeff Bezos Lauren Sanchez, singer Katy Perry, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, researcher Amanda Nguyen, and movie producer Kerianne Flynn. The liftoff took place around 9:30 a.m. ET in Van Horn, Texas, with the total time of the trip lasting around 10 minutes. Once back on Earth, both King and Perry kissed the ground.
