Prince William, Kate Middleton, & King Charles Honor Late Queen Elizabeth on Her 100th Birthday

Britan’s Royal Family is honoring late Queen Elizabeth on what would have been her 100th birthday. On April 21, King Charles paid tribute the milestone in a recorded video in which he reflected on his late mother’s life and legacy before revealing that she would have been “troubled” by the current state of the world. “Much about the times we now live in I suspect may have troubled her deeply. But I take heart in her belief that goodness will always prevail and that a brighter dawn is never far from the horizon,” the 77-year-old said, adding, “For, as a young Princess Elizabeth put it in her first ever public broadcast, aged just 14, we can each play our part ‘to make the world of tomorrow a better and happier place’. It is a belief which I share, with all my heart.” He concluded his message by addressing his mother directly, saying, “God bless you darling mama. You remain forever in our hearts and prayers.” Plus, Prince William and Kate Middleton also honored Britan’s longest reigning monarch in a social media post. “Remembering Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the 100th anniversary of her birth. Inspiring generations through a lifetime of duty,” the Prince and Princess of Wales captioned their tribute, which included photos of themselves and their children with the late Queen. The couple additionally joined other members of the Royal Family for a reception at Buckingham Palace.
