‘Survivor’ Contestant Jake Latimer Speaks Out On Shocking Snake Bite That Sent Him Home

Jake Latimer experienced one of the most life-threatening incidents in the history of “Survivor,” and now he’s opening up about the emotional roller coaster he endured. On the Oct. 8 episode of the reality TV show, now in its 49th season, Jake was bitten by a highly venomous black-banded sea krait snake in the waters of Fiji. It was ultimately determined to be a “dry bite,” meaning no venom was released by the snake, but production still decided it was in the best interest of Jake’s health that he leave the show. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jake details how he felt in the scary moments following the bite — and how he feared he might never meet his unborn child back home in Canada.
