Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s extensive custody fight has come to an end, according to the actress’ attorney.

In a statement to Access on Friday, Samantha Bley DeJean said that the former couple has reached an agreement regarding the care of their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox.

“A custody arrangement was agreed to weeks ago, and has been signed by both parties and the judge,” the statement read. “The agreement, which is based on the recommendations of the child custody evaluator, eliminates the need for a trial. The filing and details of the agreement are confidential to protect the best interests of the children.”

A rep for Pitt did not immediately respond to a request for comment when contacted by Access.

Legal proceedings between the actors have been contentious since Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences.

In August, the Oscar winner filed court papers accusing her ex of not paying any “meaningful” child support since their split. Pitt fired back with legal docs of his own, which cited that he “adamantly disputes” Jolie’s allegation and claimed that he loaned her $8 million to purchase a home and had paid more than $1.3 million for the children’s expenses.

At the time of their split, Jolie had initially sought physical custody, with Pitt filing a request for joint legal and physical custody soon after.

The actors were set to appear in court on Dec. 4. According to documents filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday and obtained by Access, Jolie requested to extend the appointment of Judge John Ouderkirk as a temporary private judge to oversee their case through Dec. 31, 2019 rather than June 30. Oudenkirk had officiated Jolie and Pitt’s marriage ceremony at their French estate in August 2014.

The estranged spouses’ divorce has not yet been finalized.
