Barry Sloane, Lily Rabe & Milo Ventimiglia Talk ABC’s ‘The Whispers’

Parents are forced to deal with a frightening threat to their children on ABC’s new drama “The Whispers,” which begins Monday night on ABC.

In the series, an unknown force is encouraging children to do bad things, and the adults – particularly those in Washington D.C. — are trying to figure out what’s going on.

“It’s the idea of anybody or anything getting its viewpoint across. Unpoliced access to your child, I think is terrifying,” “Revenge” alum Barry Sloane, who plays Wes Lawrence in the series, told Access Hollywood.

Lily Rabe plays Claire Bennigan on the show, an FBI child specialist who will be investigating the threat.

“It’s so terrifying and it’s so delicate because you want your kids to have imaginary friends if they have imaginary friends. You want them to have – it’s the most incredible thing about what it is to be a child and sort of what we’re chasing all the time as actors too, but if then… if you realize that what’s getting [in] is threatening your child, that’s a whole other thing,” she told Access.

The adults on the show will be fighting hard to get the children to stop listening to the entity, but that’s easier said than done Milo Ventimiglia, who plays John Doe in “The Whispers,” said.

“These are their friends and they’re gonna give them rewards and things that these kids desperately, desperately want,” he said.

While the show starts out with a mystery, Milo said viewers will get answers “very quick.”

“You don’t spend the whole season not knowing what’s going on. And things happen very quickly,” Lily added.
