Chris Pratt Reveals Rock Hard Guardians of the Galaxy Body

Move over Thor and Captain America, there’s a new ab-tastic hero joining the Marvel Universe!

Chris Pratt has undergone a dramatic physical transformation for his upcoming lead role in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The 34-year-old actor posted a shirtless shot of himself on Instagram on Saturday, showing off his bulging biceps, toned abs and new cut body — something that required sacrificing some liquid indulgence.

“Six months no beer. #GOTG,” he wrote on the photo’s caption. “Kinda douchey to post this but my brother made me.”

The “Parks and Recreation” star has gone through a series of body transformations over the years for his roles “Moneyball” and “Zero Dark Thirty.”

Chris Pratt will star with Zoe Saldana, Glenn Close, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly and Benicio Del Toro in the Marvel project.

The James Gunn-directed movie tells the story of Peter Quill – also known as Star-Lord (and played by Pratt) – a pilot who ends up in space with a rag tag group of outlaws that includes: Drax the Destroyer (a human resurrected as a warrior, bent on killing Thanos), Groot (an alien that resembles a massive walking tree), Gamora (the last living member of her species, who once was Thanos’ assassin) and Rocket Raccoon (a genetically engineered critter with a love of explosives and weapons).

“Guardians of the Galaxy” is slated to blast into theaters on August 1, 2014.
