The 2009-2010 fall season is officially here – and Access takes a look at how some of your favorite shows did on Monday night…
“Dancing With the Stars” was the number one show of the night with 17.5 million viewers. The return of “House” on FOX took second with 16.5 million people making an appointment with the cantankerous doctor.
Meanwhile, “CSI: Miami” returned strong, arresting third place with 13.7 million.
With “CSI: Miami” back on its throne at 10 PM, court jester Jay Leno was banished to the ratings dungeon gathering only 5.7 million people. Jay even lost to ABC’s “Castle”, which was helped by having DWTS as a lead-in. Jay did not benefit from his lead-in, as “Heroes” debuted to a dismal 6 million viewers. If numbers for the superhero series don’t improve, this could be its last season.
Other show’s returning last night were “How I Met Your Mother” with 9.2 million, “Two and a Half Men” with 13.6 million and “The Big Bang Theory” with 12.8 million. CBS debuted their new Jenna Elfman comedy “Accidentally on Purpose,” which pulled in 9 million viewers.
FOX won the night with 16.5 million viewers, ABC was second with 14.8 million, CBS finished third with 12 million and NBC, after enjoying a strong week last week, was pushed to fourth with only 5.9 million.
