Daniel Radcliffe Talks ‘Harry Potter’ Kiss: ‘I’ve Had Enough Practice Over The Years’

Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have been garnering headlines for their upcoming kiss in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” but in installment six of the J.K. Rowling series, “Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince,” it’s Harry who gets all the action.

When Daniel read that Harry falls for his best friend’s sister, Ginny, it was apparent that a kissing scene would be in the works.

Friends for nearly a decade, Daniel Radcliffe said the on-screen smooch was a tad strange with co-star Bonnie Wright.

“The kiss was… fine,” Daniel told Access Hollywood. “It was slightly weird at first.”

The kiss may have been a little uncomfortable but it was not due to a lack of technique.

“I think I’ve had enough practice over the years,” Daniel laughed. “It was one of those things where it was slightly odd at first because I’ve known Bonnie since she was nine and I was eleven… Ultimately… you get on with it.”

While Harry may be off to steal the heart of his friend’s sister in the latest film, off-screen Daniel has simpler aims.

“On the seventh film there are wanted posters with ‘Harry Potter’ on them… with my face. I’d love one of them. I think it would be great. I’d love to have it up somewhere. I’ll steal one,” he said of some props on the set of the franchise’s final installment, which the cast is shooting now. “They aren’t going to fine me.”

A poster seems harmless enough, but wouldn’t Daniel want to take Harry’s most notable accessory — his wand — home with him?

“No, because you know what? I’ve broken so many of them that I’d probably end up breaking the one I take. I think it is safer not to,” he said.
