Halsey and John Mayer are putting the romance rumors to rest!
The musicians set the record straight on all of the dating speculation on Sunday during the latest episode of John’s unofficial Instagram Live series, “Current Mood.”
The pair hilariously played a game of “Are They Dating?” featuring cue cards with their respective responses to the burning question. “If we are dating, it will be great,” John teased. “And if we’re not, we’ll be fine.”
John then did a drumroll before Halsey revealed her answer of “No.” The “Daughters” singer also did the same before he quipped, “Halsey and I ask for publicity in this very difficult time.”
The pals then explained in a bonus question why they wouldn’t date each other.
“The fact that we’re both alpha types, while not prohibitive, would make a romantic relationship difficult, especially when compounded by the fact that we’re both highly driven and creative artists who value our independence,” John said, before Halsey admitted she had the exact same answer.
She joked, “For being my not-boyfriend, you really do know me so well.”
John and Halsey began fueling romance rumors in early November after exchanging a series of playful messages on social media. However, the “Bad at Love” singer shut down the reports with a simple tweet.
