Jennifer Hudson’s Family Members Laid To Rest In Chicago

Jennifer Hudson said goodbye to her mother, Darnell Donerson, her brother, Jason Hudson, and nephew Julian King at a funeral service in Chicago on Monday.

Fantasia Barrino, Hudson’s Season 3 “American Idol” castmate, sang at the private funeral for the three members of the family, according to the Chicago Tribune. Barrino sang gospel number, “Your Grace and Mercy,” and reportedly called the Hudsons, “my family,” the paper reported.

The private funeral for Jennifer’s family lasted three hours, the Tribune reported.

A public service was held on Sunday.

Darnell Donerson and Jason Hudson were found shot to death in their family home ten days ago. The body of Jennifer’s nephew, 7-year-old Julian, was discovered on Monday October 27.

William Balfour, the stepfather of Julian, remains in police custody. He has not been charged and is being held on a parole violation. Police have described him as a “person of interest.”
