Keri Russell may have raised a few eyebrows with her surprisingly sexy spread inside the pages of the new issue of Esquire, but the actress said showing some skin is just part of her everyday routine.
“I just like to be naked as much as possible, at all times,” Keri joked with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday morning’s Access Hollywood Live.
The steamy photos, which show the 34-year-old actress scantily clad, and in some cases wearing nothing more than an unbuttoned (and conveniently positioned) blouse, may have sent the pulses of her fans racing – but what about her husband?
“Honestly, my husband hasn’t heard about these photos yet. I’m sure he will. Someone will e-mail him about them or something,” she said of her spouse, Shane Deary, whom she wed in 2007.
“And then I’m just going to cook really great dinners for a week,” she grinned.
Although, as Keri – who stars in FOX’s new sitcom “Running Wilde” (premiering September 21) opposite Will Arnett – explained, Shane might not be too shocked to see the photos.
“It was his birthday last night. We had a party… That’s what I wore to the party. Those were my clothes,” she deadpanned again. “That’s how I normally look, obviously.”
So, what made the seemingly conservative actress and mom of a 3-year-old son strip down for Esquire?
“Is this a way of telling people, ‘Don’t just cast me as the mom character?’ Is it telling people — reminding them — that you are hot and can be the femme fatale as well?” Billy asked Keri.
“I have a feeling, a slight suspicion, it has less to do with proving that and more to do with FOX saying, ‘Please watch our show,” she again joked.
