Mariah Carey Honors Whitney Houston With Touching Flashback Post

Mariah Carey is feeling nostalgic about an old friend and fellow musical powerhouse. 

The superstar honored her pal Whitney Houston on Friday, paying tribute to the late singer with a heartfelt Instagram post.

“Forever an icon,” she wrote, captioning a throwback
snap of her and Whitney posing together on the set of their video for “When
You Believe.”

The duet was featured in the 1998 DreamWorks animated film
“The Prince of Egypt,” and the women later performed the number
onstage at the Oscars before it won the statuette for Best Original Song.

Whitney was tragically found dead at the Beverly Hilton
Hotel in February 2012.

“Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my
friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston,” Mariah Tweeted upon hearing
the news. “She will never be forgotten as one of the greatest voices to ever
