‘Outlander’ Casts Lionel Lingelser As King Louis XV For Season 2

“Outlander” actor Sam Heughan Tweeted early Tuesday morning that he had some “new actors to ‘play with,'”and hours later there was a new, Season 2 casting reveal from Starz.

French actor Lionel Lingelser has been lined up to play King Louis XV in Season 2, the network confirmed on its “Outlander” Twitter account.

The character will interact with both Caitriona Balfe’s Claire and Sam’s Jamie Fraser as the show’s main characters try to change history and stop the Jacobite rising.

Lionel joins Season 2 newcomers including “Harry Potter” alum Frances de la Tour, who is playing Mother Hildegarde, Laurence Dobiesz, who is playing Alex Randall, Andrew Gower, who is playing Bonnie Prince Charlie, Romann Berrux who is taking on Fergus/Claudel, Dominique Pinon as Master Raymond, Claire Sermonne as Madame Louise Marquise de Rohan, Rosie Day, who is playing Mary, Robert Cavanah as Jamie Fraser’s uncle, Jared Fraser, and Stanley Weber, who is playing Comte St.

Season 2 is currently in production in Scotland.
