Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are one step closer to tying the knot.
A rep for the country singer confirmed to Access Hollywood that she is engaged to her NHL star boyfriend.
“I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier,” the rep told Access.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the singer said she was at first hesitant about being set up with the Ottawa Senators center.
“We had a friend, one of my band members was trying to hook us up,” she said during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in November. “He was like, ‘I have this guy for you,’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s great. What does he do?’ ‘He plays hockey.’”
Carrie also noted during the interview that dating someone long distance has its drawbacks.
“I love Canada, but that is a long distance relationship,” she explained, “We see each other more than people think we see each other. We don’t go out publicly, we just do our thing.”
The couple has yet to set a date for their big day.
