Tom Hardy Exits ‘Suicide Squad,’ Jake Gyllenhaal Eyed As Replacement

“Suicide Squad” has already lost one of its members!

A source at Warner Bros. tells AccessHollywood.com that Tom Hardy (who was slated to play the leader of the villains-turned-heroes Rick Flagg) has left the project.

The actor, who previously played DC Comics villain Bane in the “Dark Knight Rises,” is exiting the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Other actors in the David Ayer-directed Batman villain spinoff project include Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.

The Wrap reported that Jake Gyllenhaal is being eyed to take over the Rick Flagg role left vacant by Hardy.

“Suicide Squad” is slated to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
